Many pet care businesses offer services like “House Sitting” or “Plant Sitting” where no pets are present—either because the client has no pets or the service doesn’t involve animal care. Currently, the system requires a pet to be assigned in order to book services, which creates unnecessary confusion and workaround steps for both clients and staff.
A solution could be to introduce a “No Pet” pet type or allow certain services to bypass the pet requirement entirely, even if pets are required for other services. This would help streamline workflows and reduce client friction.
Additionally, the Forms feature would need to accommodate this improvement. At present, form rules only support selecting one pet type or the catch-all “Any Pets,” which includes all animals. Supporting multiple selections (e.g., “Dogs AND Cats”) and recognizing a “No Pet” type would offer much-needed flexibility and better reflect the variety of services many pet care companies provide.
