Option to Disable Staff Time-Off Requests
Joette White
I'd like to submit a feature request regarding staff time-off requests in Precise Petcare.
Is it possible to add a company-level setting that allows businesses to turn off the option for staff to request time off through PPC?
Our company currently manages time-off requests through a separate internal process - ADP, our payroll and current time keeping platform, and we would prefer to prevent staff from submitting time-off requests directly through PPC unless we intentionally enable that feature.
Requested Feature
Add an admin setting such as:
"Allow staff to request time off through the staff portal/app"
With options like:
Enabled
Disabled
When disabled, staff would not see the option to submit a time-off request through PPC.
Why This Would Help
This would allow companies to maintain one clear time-off request process and avoid confusion, duplicate requests, or requests being submitted through the wrong system.
If this setting already exists, please let me know where to find it.
Thank you,
Joette White

Time off requests

Is there a way we can make employee time off requests show up as requested on the master schedule for scheduling purposes?
The only way we can see it on the master schedule is if we approve it and we can’t always approve time off but need to be able to see it on the master schedule as we are working ok scheduling to see if it’s possible to give the time off.

Maybe change the wording for IC or employee. I had it turned off because it said for the employee. We turend it on and had to tell our staff that we are not approving it, but it's the only way we get notified if they are off.

I don’t like that it’s an either or situation in PPC- pet sitter sets availability OR pet sitter time off must be approved. I wish there was a way to have both of these settings so we would not have to use something else in order for the team to request time off.

I would love the option to turn off holiday time off after some sitters get approved first, like a first come first serve, and then they get a black out date. Adam Smith is this something that can be done related to this request? Office decides when to turn this on and we can select the dates ourselves throughout the year? Having sitters in various areas we want a chance to black them out to make sure we have coverage once some start to ask time off. :)

Hi Joette, turning off availability is something I requested a long time ago. Hopefully, enough people will see this as valuable and respond.

We can completely turn off the Availability feature for you, just submit a ticket.
Susan Gary
Adam Smith this would need to be done each day when pet sitters cannot request time off?
Adam Smith
Susan Gary: No, this would completely disable the availability functionality within the system.

I would love to add a few options:
1) be notified when someone inputs availability
2) require notes when adding availability
3) the ability to archive (preferably automatically) past availability dates that have already passed

Would like to get an alert / email when sitters block time off. We don't require our sitters time off to be approved, but would be helpful to know when they have asked off vs having to see it just on the schedule. Also to just be able to see all time off on the master schedule even if nothing is scheduled.

Melissa Martin: If you change your Availability / Time Off setting to "Pet Sitter time off must be approved" you will get an email when time off is requested. https://precisepetcare.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/1000037559-availability-time-off

Adam Smith thanks for the information, but I don't want to have to approve everyone's time off.
Adam Smith
Melissa Martin: Alternatively, you can setup an email alert at Admin > Admin Tools > Activity Alerts.
Melissa Martin
Adam Smith I was not aware of this option! Thank you very much.

Hey Adam, It seems like this has been in que for a bit. We have over 40 sitters, so these are the problems we are encountering, and suggestions to make it easier:
The issue we have is when a sitter has ongoing unavailability and when we goto edit it. It takes a few steps:
• Skip date
• Enter in new availability
• Make sure its all correct
What would be idea is to have the ability to go into the specific date we are trying to change & just edit that one day. Much like when we book ongoing visits. If the client wants to change or cancel one day, the system lets us do that one day
