Two-Factor Authentication adds an optional verification step when clients and staff log in to Precise Petcare.
This release makes 2FA optional for individual accounts. It does not require every client or staff member in a business to enable it.
After the business enables
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
through Admin > Business Settings > PPC Labs
, each client or staff member can set it up for their own account:- Open Accountand selectSet UpbesideTwo-Factor Authentication.
- Enter a mobile number.
- Enter the six-digit verification code sent by text message.
Once enabled, logging in from an untrusted device requires the account password and a verification code sent to that mobile number. Codes expire after 10 minutes.
Users can select
Remember this device for 30 days
so they do not need to enter a code every time they log in from the same browser or device.Two-Factor Authentication works with the web app and the current Precise Petcare mobile app (released September 2026 or later). Enabling it signs the account out of the mobile app on all devices so the user can sign back in and complete verification. Anyone using an older version of the mobile app must update before signing in to an account with 2FA enabled.
Each user manages 2FA separately. Users can disable it from their
Account
page by entering their current password. If someone loses access to their verification number, an administrator can remove 2FA from that staff or client login. The account holder is notified by email when this happens.Verification-code requests, successful and unsuccessful verification attempts, trusted devices, and administrative removals are recorded in the

2 Factor Authentication

I would love if the software had a two factor authentication process. Storing sensitive information about client's homes and payment information is a liability. Clients have also mentioned they don't feel comfortable inputting information at times as they feel cyber security is lacking.

Can we get two-factor authentication added?
Raphael Panagidis
Yes I’ve had this been asked about a few times. Would be great.
Shira Winitzky
I have had clients ask for this it would be great to have this as an option feature. Not forced on everyone but if they want it as some people do not like 2 factor in general.
Stu Perlman
This will be a great add so long as it is opt-in by client. For every client that wants it, another will complain about it.
