Communication Hub + Conversations
in progress

Communication Hub + Conversations requires the
Modern Interface Update
. It is not available in the legacy interface.
Communication Hub + Conversations organizes client and staff communication into connected, threaded Conversations. It works alongside the existing Messages, Pet Care Journals, and client communication interfaces rather than replacing them.
Communication Hub
Communication Hub can be opened from the staff Dashboard or from the communication icon at the top of any page. Selecting an item opens a persistent Conversation that can remain open or minimized while staff move between pages.
The Hub includes separate views for:
- Inbox:Conversations currently needing attention
- Office:Client communication involving scheduling, billing, requests, cancellations, and general questions
- Care Team:Client communication involving visits, pet care, Pet Care Journals, and related replies
- Scheduled:Communication scheduled for later
- Hidden:Resolved, snoozed, or personally hidden Conversations
Staff can search and filter Conversations, track unread activity, mark a Conversation as Waiting for client, indicate that no reply is needed, or return it to Needs reply. Follow-up responsibility can also be assigned to an eligible staff member.
Mark as read, Snooze, and Hide for me affect only your own view. Needs reply, Waiting for client, Resolved, and follow-up responsibility are shared with other authorized staff.
No reply needed
resolves the Conversation for the team; Hide for me
does not.Connected Conversations
Supported Messages, email and SMS replies, Pet Care Journals, journal comments, requests, cancellations, visit notes, and other related activity are organized chronologically within Conversations.
Client communication retains its existing audience boundaries:
- OfficeConversations are available to the client and management.
- Care TeamConversations are also available to staff who currently have access to the client.
- Office Onlycommunication remains internal to management.
- Direct and shared Staff Conversations remain separate from client communication.
Care Team messages sent through the Hub also notify eligible staff assigned to the client’s current or upcoming visits. Notifications follow each recipient’s communication preferences unless you choose a delivery override, subject to the available delivery methods. The composer shows recipients and delivery methods before sending, and scheduled messages recheck assignments when they send. Staff SMS notifications include a link back to the Hub to reply.
Related links connect entries back to the applicable Journal, visit, request, cancellation, invoice, or other record.
Businesses using Tasks can create or link Tasks from an entire Conversation or an individual message and return directly to the discussion. Completing a Task and resolving a Conversation remain separate actions.
Communication Hub does not duplicate every transactional, marketing, or bulk Email Log entry. When communication predates the history available in the Hub,
Earlier messages
opens the existing communication history.Replies and new communication
Staff can reply from a Conversation, reply to a specific message, use saved Responses and Personalize, add formatting and images, and add emoji reactions. Drafts are saved automatically and remain private to the person writing them until sent.
Client communication can be delivered by Email, SMS, or both when those delivery methods are available for the location and recipient. Supported incoming client email and SMS replies return to the applicable Conversation. If an SMS cannot be confidently matched to Office or Care Team, management can review where it belongs.
Management can also create communication for selected clients, all active clients, individual staff, selected staff, or Staff Segments. Recipients and delivery details can be reviewed before sending. Each client receives a separate Conversation, even when multiple clients are selected or Care Team is included. Staff communication can use individual or shared Conversations.
Communication can be sent immediately or scheduled for later. Scheduled communication can repeat weekly, monthly, or yearly and can be reviewed, edited, paused, or canceled from the Scheduled view.
PPC Labs availability
Communication Hub + Conversations is available to staff through PPC Labs beginning October 21, 2026. It requires the Modern Interface Update and a separate, explicit opt-in to Communication Hub in PPC Labs; the all-features Labs setting does not turn it on automatically.
Supported communication is already being captured in the background, so there is no manual history-loading step to get started. Clients continue using their existing Timeline, Messages, and Pet Care Journal interfaces.

When responding to a client's messages via the hub, it does not update the actual inbox indicating there has been a response.

In the communication area on the client profile, it would be helpful to be able to see more than just a month's worth of communication.

In the Communication Hub, where it has the Inbox/Office/etc. It would be nice to also have ALL.

Communication Overhaul

Original title: Centralize Journals and Messages on Client Profiles
Would love the ability to have messages and journals all combined in central location in each clients profile and available for sitters to see the history of the communication and the journals. There would probably need to be an option for clients to be able to send a private message to only management.

Just want to re-iterate some issues that I think have been already mentioned that our team is experiencing since we turned on the Manager Inbox feature in Precise.
There is no thread of communications so emailing/communicating via Precise has come to be difficult in the sense of responding and/or having a chain to refer to.
When responding via email, you can go to the messages portion of Precise, but you cannot see the message in which they are responding to nor is responding to the email simple.
There is no way to “view” the email that was sent, that option has disappeared.
You also do not have a way of determining who has been responded to without taking additional steps > going into the client profile > going to the email/sms tab. Even then, you cannot view the message that was sent, just that a message was sent in general.

Commenting on Trips for pet sitters

Allow a comment section (viewable by staff only) for communication on a pet sit. It could be an easy way to group staff communications together without creating a separate staff messaging system.

Comment Reaction (Emoji)
Bethany Spilde
Hi Precise Petcare team,
Would it be possible to get a comment reaction option added to the pet journals? Sitter have commented that it would be helpful to have a way to acknowledge a clients response without a full message -- and vice versa for the client to acknowledge a sitter's pet journal. (The feature would be just like texting behavior on our mobile devices and social media platforms.)
Thank you for your consideration.
Best,
Bethany

Also would be nice to have the ability to schedule send messages and if possible, journal comments to send at a different time/date. This way we can respond "within" office hours to clients but whenever we actually have time to do it on our end.

Relating to "React to comments on journals and other messages" I just got a comment on a journal earlier today from a client, unprompted, also wanting to be able to emoji react, similar to what I was requesting to be available for companies.
